Camping can be a really fun and rewarding experience. Whether you want to enjoy the outdoors, spend some quality time with your family, have fun at a music festival, meet new people, or you simply want to escape your boring and often stressful daily routine, camping is the way to go. It’s an affordable and fairly simple holiday with a ton of different choices.

With a caravan you get to enjoy the outdoors while still having the conveniences of the modern world. This, of course doesn’t mean that you should just drive off in the wild without proper preparation. Although RVs and caravans are designed to be self sufficient and have their own electrical, heating, waste and clean water systems, and so on, there are some things that are not included when you purchase them, such as a drinkable water hose.
As you can probably tell from the name, a drinkable water hose is used to supply your caravan with drinking water which is why you should choose the right hose for the job. A good drinkable water hose must be durable, clean, and large enough in order to supply you with fresh drinking water on your camping trips.
One of the main reasons to use a specialized drinkable water hose and not just any regular garden hose, is the material. Drinking water hoses are made from food grade materials and don’t contain any toxic substances, or anything that may add a funny taste or odour to your drinking water or contaminate it in any way. Also you should never use it for anything other than drinking water to avoid contamination.
The durability of the hose also very important since it is not enclosed within the caravan structure and it is constantly exposed to the elements. You also need to handle it every time you change locations, which means that it is more susceptible to wear and tear and you need to replace it from time to time. Investing in a quality drinkable water hose means that you will do that less often.
As far as the shape and length is concerned, extra reach is always good, however, you need to have in mind that a longer hose means more space and when it comes to camping, you are probably aware that space management is very important. The same goes for the shape of the hose. There are two types to choose from: round and flat. Round hoses are pretty much like garden hoses, while the flat ones are much more compact when they are not in use and take up less of your precious space.
So before you purchase your drinkable water hose, make sure you do a little research online and make a good estimate about the length you need for the camping sites you are planing to visit.
