Let’s be honest, working from home with children is challenging. Regardless of the age of your toddler, kids are always in the need of attention which can be quite difficult when you have to focus on your work. During this period, even if your kids are still going to school, the real limitation comes with the fact that they can’t go out to play or take a long walk with some other adult. That being said, sourcing yourself with some unique ideas on how to keep them occupied is pivotal.
Classic Building Blocks Starter Kit
Toddlers love playing with building blocks. They particularly love the idea of building castles, windmills, houses, farmhouses and cars, so make sure you invest in some interesting building block set. Blocks can help your kid develop his/her STEM skills by encouraging his/her imagination and problem-solving skills.

Who doesn’t love the idea of making something on their own? Kids love helping moms in the kitchen or dads in the garage, so every kid would love getting a DIY kids craft kit. Crafty young teens would love the idea of creating a scented candle or a really cool bracelet, while toddlers prefer knitting, making pompoms, spinning tops or animal mosaic kits. One thing is certain, regardless of the type of kids making kits all of them are important for improving their development and brain skills. It has been proved that with craft kits kids can improve many other assets like their self-esteem, math concepts, and their motor skills.

Dress-Up Set
These sets are particularly interesting for girls as they are usually interested in dressing up their dolls. You can opt for a set that comes in the form of a puzzle, so she can create interesting outfit combos, or you can opt for some more modern versions of wooden figurines. These sets usually come with a great number of clothing pieces that she can mix and match with the help of their magnets.
Keep Them Physically Active
Even though we can’t go out whenever we want, this doesn’t mean your kids can’t be physically active at home. The ideal time to make them exercise a little is in the morning and you as well can participate in this routine. The benefits of being active are numerous. Exercising promotes strong muscles and bones, healthy weight, decreased risk of developing diabetes type 2, better sleep and so on. Now, keep in mind that different activities fit different age, so make sure you find the right exercises for your little one. Kids won’t do something they don’t enjoy, so make sure to find something appropriate and interesting for them.
Create Their Very Own Tent
Now is the time to go back in time and create the tent your parents did for you. Set up the tent by placing a huge bedding sheet or blanket over several chairs. Secure it with laundry clips and start filling the tent with multiple camping items. Let your children get comfy by adding pillows and blankets and let the fun begin. Children have unlimited imagination, so let them be. If possible, play along. Your children will be thrilled to have you in their very own tent.
Toilet Rolls Tunnels
Who says that to have fun you need to spend a lot of money?! Besides the aforementioned games and ideas, your kids can also have fun by playing this simple game. This game is great for those days when everything seems boring, even dressing up dolls, playing cards or building towers. All you’ll need is several empty toilet paper rolls, smaller balls and some other smaller items like dry pasta, cars, etc. Once stocked, tape the rolls to a wall or door and create a really long tunnel or several smaller. Stick the rolls with duct tape and let your kids drop the items through the tunnel/s. May the fun begin!
